Safe Corner has experience in coordinating development projects. The development cooperation is focused on enhancing the well-being of poor women, girls, and children in Nigeria by addressing the root causes of poverty, inequality, and social exclusion, as well as empower women and girls, protect children’s rights, and strengthen community resilience. The NGO aims to create long-term, sustainable change rather than short-term relief, ensuring that beneficiaries gain the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to improve their own lives and contribute positively to their communities in partnership with local organizations, community leaders
More than 3 decades of corruption since its independence and the emergence of terrorist groups like Boko Haram/ISWAP, bandits, etc., Nigerians have been faced with crippled development, aggravated poverty, inequality, and insecurity through the diversion of funds from essential services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure. The terrorist groups have also fueled massive displacement, huge humanitarian crises, widespread death, food insecurity, destroyed infrastructure (leading to internal displacement), economic collapse, and psychological trauma for millions. Particularly, women and children are in a vulnerable position, exposed to discrimination, violence and, poverty. In addition, some rural arears in Nigeria make girls become victims of female genital mutilation due to a harmful tradition.
Safe Corner strives to create a future where women, girls, and children in Nigeria can live healthy, educated, and empowered lives. Our development cooperation projects support women’s small business activities, political participation and sexual and reproductive health. In addition, creates awareness of the health risk involved with female genital mutilation. By working together with partners and communities, we aim to build sustainable solutions that break the cycle of poverty and promote dignity, equality, and opportunity for all.
